My parents are from Taiwan, so I’ve been back quite a few times over the years. Growing up, a lot of the time there was spent making family visits (and as a result, a lot of sitting around).

It wasn’t until the last few trips, as adults, when our family finally started making trips outside of our relatives’ homes, and we started to understand why friends and acquaintances kept saying they wanted to visit.
